When it comes to dealing with online hate, Patrick Mahomes says his wife Brittany Mahomes has a fumble-free approach.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback praised Brittany—with whom he shares children Sterling, 2, and Patrick "Bronze," 7 months—for her level-headed social media mindset, which he attributes to her past as a professional soccer player.
"She was an athlete growing up," Patrick exclusively shared with E! News' Francesca Amiker while speaking about his partnership with Walmart. "If you played any sports, you know [there are] as many people that enjoy how you play and the effort that you give [as] people that are always going to hate on you. And so she has a good sense of that."
Patrick noted that "all of us can learn" from Brittany on how to tune out negativity.
"Enjoy your life every single day and not worry about what everyone thinks," the NFL star explained of Brittany's approach. "Life's short."
He continued, "You want to enjoy those moments and remember those moments. And for us, we try to enjoy those moments with our family as much as possible."
In fact, the Super Bowl champ admitted he often goes to Brittany for advice on how to handle "the pressure of being in the spotlight," which he will touch on in the Netflix docuseries Quarterback, out July 12.
"She has her head on her shoulders the right way," Patrick said. "She's my rock. She's the one that, through tough times, can get me through."
Explaining how there are "a lot of ups and downs" within football, the athlete added, "Having someone that supports you every single day like I do is the reason that I am in the position that I am today."
But outside of football, Patrick is focusing on being the best dad to his kids—as well as his dogs Steel and Silver—by teaming up with Walmart alongside Becky G and Barbie to curate shoppable carts.
So, what's in his cart? Something fun for the family.
"My wife is really good about getting the food and all the essentials for the dog," Patrick said, "but I make sure to bring home a new toy every single time I go to Walmart, and I like to think that that kind of keeps me as the favorite parent for the dogs."

If you want to do some Patrick-inspired shopping, here are some of his Walmart favorites.
"I use the Hypervolt every single day and so to be able to have the Hypervolt on me, I don't know about everyone around, but I lose a lot of things, so I like, I make sure to have a couple of them on hand at all time.
"I have a partnership with Oakley, so for them to to be able to carry some of the sunglasses that I truly believe in is really cool. So many different things that I've kind of intertwined with are at Walmart now."
"I have a daughter who loves bubbles, so you can't have too many bubble machines."
"I make sure to bring home a new toy every single time I go to Walmart, and I like to think that that kind of keeps me as the favorite parent for the dogs."
